People travel all over the world, we seek to go to remote places in order to find new experiences. In a way, we have created this idea of correlation between finding meaningful experiences and going far away. With surfing, the strive is for the ocean, geographically we are not all blest with a coastline which for many means picking up your backpack and booking a ticket somewhere distant. The same goes for the ones who strives to draw energy from snow-covered mountains. Most of us are locked within the vast landscape of concrete, buildings and crowds of people.

But sometimes we don’t have to spin the globe to find a unique destination, sometimes we don’t have to look very far at all when it can be found around you. I discovered Munich a few years back. For me coming from Sweden - Munich seemed like a unique place - you can go to the mountains from everything between 1h up to 8 and in the same day ride a wave that breaks 24/7 365 days a year.

Which for many is a distant dream.

We should celebrate the people pushing the boundaries and exploring the corners of the world and channel their mindset into our own. Channel it through our selfs to become more present in our own reality and for those things that are around us. By paying more attention to these things that sometimes goes unnoticed I believe that we can be more present and in the end, become more satisfied with our reality and seeing the uniqueness in what is near.

It’s like Pistolettos description of the third paradise. Where us humans realized the balanced connection between artifice and nature, with a reformation of the principles and the ethical behaviours guiding our common life.”

  • The idea revolves around portraying a life within the city and the connection between manmade and naturally made. I’m currently photographer surfers who are involved with the local brand RIOT SURFBOARDS whom also are very passionate snowboarders. Plan is to showcase the balanced connection between artificial and nature.
Symbolize the positive effect of when nature and man comes together.
